Taking off from Maun, your safari transfer flight is the best way to appreciate the dramatically shifting topography as we take you from the floodplains south of the Okavango Delta into the sweeping expanse of the Kalahari Desert - the largest unbroken stretch of sand on the planet! You’ll be met at the airstrip and taken to our safari camp in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Desert Safari!
At the core of the vast Kalahari Desert, the Central Kalahari Game Reserve is one of the largest protected areas on the continent. Amidst its sweeping vistas of acacia savannah and scrub-covered dunes, a fascinating spectrum of plants and animals have successfully adapted to living in these harsh conditions. Impressive herds of springbok, wildebeest and gemsbok are constantly foraging for food as predators stalk their next meal. These carnivores encompass small mammals like the Cape fox and honey badger as well as hyena, cheetah and the magnificent black-maned Kalahari lion!
